Work-Life Balance
Every Tuesday I blog about trying to maintain work-life balance as a wife, mother, writer, and physician. While I remain a work in progress, the blog is my own therapy, helping me to figure out the delicate balance between the personal and professional.

The Before

This is the piece of writing I am most proud of to date. It came about after breaking bad news - the hardest thing a doctor does - to a friend and patient. I tried to capture the moment just before the news is delivered - the last normal moment of a patient's life.

Writing About What I Know

I like to write - scientific articles, essays, non-fiction, advice, and fiction. This is a group of articles I've written about a variety of issues in medicine for the journal Medical Economics.

Flash Fiction
Mark Twain said it best, quipping "I didn't have time to write a short letter, so I'm writing a long letter." Telling a story in less than 1000 words was a challenging but so much fun to write.
